The Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County receives guaranteed funds from this unified program.

Funds will continue to be used to fund research, promote education and provide family support services to those with Alzheimer's disease in Ottawa. This direct mail program provides our chapter’s current and potential donors with several opportunities throughout the year to support the Alzheimer movement. By offering our donors a number of chances to give, they can donate at the time of the year that is best for them.

Suggested donation levels are a guideline only. The Society is grateful for donations of all levels of giving ability.

A Reminder to Donors

Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County Does Not Canvass Door-to-Door or Make Phone Solicitations

The Alzheimer Society of Ottawa
and Renfrew County would like to remind the general public that it does not canvass for funds door to door or through phone solicitations.

Ottawa is blessed with many generous and committed donors. Unfortunately, there are also those who take advantage of people’s generosity. Giving is important but we encourage donors to donate wisely. If you choose to give at the door, we encourage you to ask the following questions:

• Does the organization have a Revenue Canada charitable registration number and will I receive an official receipt for income tax purposes?
• What does the organization do and how will my donation directly benefit people?
• How can I obtain additional information?
• Where is your office located?

Ways to protect yourself:

• Never give credit card information to any organization with which you are not familiar
• Do not send cash through the mail
• Always write cheques to the organization – not the individual collecting the money
• Obtain an official receipt

The Alzheimer Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County would like to take this opportunity to thank our community's generous supporters for their donations.
